In this popular book, "A Gospel Trilogy", Brother Skousen explains how we learn the gospel on two basic levels: the first level is the MILK of the gospel, or learning what the essential requirements are that leads us back to the presence of the Father. The second level of learning is the MEAT level which explains not only why each principle of the Gospel is necessary, but how it works.

Isaiah explains that the meat belongs to those "who understand doctrine and are weaned from the milk ... For precept must be upon precept, line upon line." (Isaiah 28:9-10)

The meat must be prayerfully studied and pondered, not digested by swallowing it in gulps. Meanwhile, we are obedient to the milk commandments and maintain our pathway back to the Father. 

In this updated 90 page book, W. Cleon Skousen reveals some of the meat of the gospel and the steps he had to personally understand through the guidance and teaching he received from Apostle John A. Widtsoe.

Brother Skousen discusses: What is intelligence or the source of God's power? How can we attain perfection? Why did Jesus have to be crucified?

Also included in this book is a transcription of Brother Skousen's popular talk, "A Personal Search for the Meaning of the Atonement", plus free QR links to YouTube audio and video versions of this talk.
